Q: What is Snow College Codes?

A: Snow College Codes Codes is an online coding program for Snow students and alumni that teaches the foundations of web and app development – creating websites and apps.


Q: What will students learn in the program?

A: Students will get access to a 60+ hour curriculum that teaches students about three web and app development languages that are in high demand in the workforce. The three languages are HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. By the end of the course, students will be able to create their own static website, access repositories, wireframe an app, as well as the different pathways within computer science.


Q: What if I am getting a degree in a field not related to computer science?

A: Every degree and career field involves coding – nonprofits, government entities, and private businesses all use coders because technology is the backbone of every organizations’ operations. The web and app development languages learn and the soft skills with Snow College Codes can be applied within any degree or career pathway.


Q: Is previous coding experience required to participate?

A: No! It is encouraged that students who have never coded before should participate because the curriculum goes into the foundational elements that anyone can learn.


Q: Is it only current Snow College students that can participate?

A: No! Alumni of Snow College are invited to register for the program as well.


Q: Where can students and alumni register for Snow College Codes and what happens after registration?

A: Registration can be found at www.snowcollegecodes.org. Students will receive an automated confirmation to the email listed on the registration. Within 48 hours, two more emails will be sent. One email will be from "No-Reply-DevCamp" that has an activation link to access the curriculum platform called DevCamp. The other will come from codetosuccess@sieutah.org with a computer set-up checklist to run the curriculum as well as next steps for the program.


Q: What happens if the DevCamp and/or Next Steps email have not been received?

Q: What does the student need to run the curriculum on their computer?

A: The curriculum can run on both PCs and Macs as well as desktops and laptops. However, the curriculum cannot run on a Chromebook. Students will need a few downloads and to access a few websites, all of which can be found in the Computer Set-Up Checklist at www.snowcollegecodes.org.
